Feel like your writing could use
more power and polish?
When it comes to writing nonfiction, you might feel like your work should have more structure or stronger arguments, but you’re not sure how to improve in these areas. Sounds like you could use a line editor to guide you in communicating clearly & effectively.
In the midst of researching the topic you’re writing on, it’s easy to overlook the crucial work of ensuring your ideas are getting across to your readers. There might be counter-arguments you haven’t considered, unproven assumptions you assert as facts, or typos that distract the reader from your content. Having another pair of eyes on your work opens up myriad opportunities for improvement.
My name is Drake Isabell, and as an editor, I strive to help sharpen the writing abilities of students, scholars and authors through careful proofreading and substantial feedback. Whether you are working on a book manuscript, a college/seminary assignment, or a paper for an academic journal, my goal is to help you express your thoughts in a way that is clear and compelling to your reader.
If you are looking for:
- In-depth feedback on the written content itself, including everything from the substance of the arguments to the effectiveness of the title
- Suggestions on the structure and flow of the material
- Comments on potential loopholes or counter-perspectives that need addressing
- Areas for further research that may strengthen the force of your arguments
- Typos or grammatical errors that need correcting
- All of the above within a quick turnaround time
I can help YOU meet your goals & become a better writer today!
However, I’m not the editor for everyone. For example, I cannot:
- Tell you exactly how to write your paper/assignment/book, or write it for you
- Ensure your writing conforms to the style requirements of your particular institution/journal/publisher
Areas of Expertise:
As a doctoral student in seminary, my specialty is nonfiction writing in the realm of biblical and theological studies. However, as someone who regularly devours literature on a wide variety of topics, I can provide the same kind of editorial analysis to nonfiction writings outside of that field, though the quality of feedback will vary based on how much technical knowledge of the subject is required.
As much as I enjoy good novels and short stories, I do not offer editing services for any kind of fiction writing.
